Ronald McDonald House 

MISSION
Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with children being treated for serious, often life-threatening conditions at local hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House relies on community support. It is the only service of its kind that is open to families caring for children at any San Diego area hospital.

Impact
Thanks to an active volunteer program and generous community support, each year approximately:

• 1,200 families reside with them during their child’s hospitalization
• 12,000 additional people use the Family Care Center, coming for meals, computer access, and other essential resources
• 125,000 meals are served free of charge to family members with hospital identification
• 100 siblings of hospitalized children take part in education and enrichment programs, including the onsite School Away From School

Volunteer Opportunity

 Volunteers will have the chance to go to the Ronald McDonald House to prepare, serve and clean up after the families have enjoyed a delicious meal. We will be supplied with ingredients but our group will be responsible for all the cooking, preparation and ensuring the kitchen is clean when we are all done. This will be a wonderful opportunity to help these families that are going through a hard time in their lives and we hope that by helping to provide a good meal will allow them to focus their energy on their child's healing! If you are interested in participating please fill out the form to the left. This will be an independent volunteer opportunity, not sponsored by NUSNA. 

**Currently, there are no available opportunities with Ronald McDonald House. Please check back as we regularly update the site. In the meantime, please look at some of our other wonderful events and opportunities.

NUSNA Volunteering Rules:
- We do not tolerate no-shows!
- Give at least 2-3 days in advance notice before an event if you can no longer volunteer. Please email the respective NUSNA board of director in charge of the event.

- If you fail to adhere to the above rules, you will receive a penalty. After 2 penalties to your name, you will no longer be allowed to volunteer for any events and will lose privileges to earning points.
